WALKING TOURS WITH A TWISt
Our games offer you the chance to see cities from a different perspective. With walking trails taking you into hidden corners of the city, from the must-see to the unknown, each game is different depending on the people and things you see during your tour. A fun way to see the city, to compete against your friends and family, and to learn about the city's history. Part game, part tour and part treasure hunt, see Paris and St Malo differently with Worktown Games.
our tours
The goal is to visit as many locations as possible, either in your own time or against the clock. But your score will also depend on who/what you see in the neighbourhood during your visit, so no tour will be the same.
right bank
saint malo
latin quarter
A tour of the Right Bank taking in the biggest sites to the smallest, unfamiliar areas. From the Jardin de Tuileries to the Comedie Francaise, criss-crossing the side streets and hidden passages making up this vibrant area.
Saint Malo is known as the "Cité Corsaire", or the famous Corsair City. Follow this game across the city's ramparts, around the winding streets of the intra-muros walled city, and along the beautiful Bon Secours beach.
The Latin Quarter is one of the most romantic and historic areas in Paris. This game takes you on a tour from the Arènes de Lutece in a wide loop around the area, via Notre Dame, Rue Mouffetard, the Pantheon and many others.
HOW IT WORKS
The goal is to find as many different sites in the neighbourhood as possible. You get 10 points for every site you find, and there are also ways to earn extra points - but watch out, you can also lose points (which is great if you’re competitive and competing against friends or family). You will receive a digital file so once you’ve downloaded your game, there’s no need for Wi-Fi or signal. You can use a map or GPS if you need help finding somewhere, and there’s a map with the route included at the end of each file. Each game also comes with recommendations for cafes, museums and other sites along the way.
There are two ways to play:

PARIS ESSENTIALS
(and some hidden gems)
So you've booked a trip to Paris and now you want to know how to hit the ground running when you arrive?
Look no further, we'll guide you through some of the must-sees and experiences of the city and give you an insight into the lesser known places you should go.
1) The Louvre
The biggest, busiest museum of them all - in 2018, over 10 million guests visited the Louvre. But the Louvre is a legend for a reason, and there are ways to get around the crowds to see the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory of Samothrace, the Venus de Milo... as well as the quieter Richelieu statue courts, the remains of the old Louvre castle in the Sully wing, or the much less frequented third floor of the museum. The Louvre is free for those under 18 (non-EU residents) and under 26s (EU residents), and it is regularly open late on Fridays if you want a leisurely stroll through the museum in the evening.
2) People watch from a cafe terrace
After walking around the Louvre, you'll probably want to rest your feet and re-energise with a coffee. Take a seat at one of the many bistros or cafes, sit back and watch the world go by. There are countless options for each budget, taste and style - some of our favourites include Cafe Nemours (shown above), Le Compas (on Rue Montorgueil, perfect inbetween shopping and sight-seeing), or the Comptoir du Pantheon (a wood-panelled haunt for the local students and professors, overlooking the Pantheon).
3) Pompidou Centre
Home to an enormous collection of modern and contemporary arts, the Pompidou Centre is a huge, awe-inspiring museum in a historically hated building. You need to see its inside-out architecture yourself to make your mind up whether you love it or hate, but we love it - the different colours of the pipes marks what they're used for (air, electricity, people...), and the building also holds an enormous public library (the Bibliothèque publique d'information, or BPI), a bookshop, cafe and rooftop bar. You can also buy a ticket taking you up the escalators on the outside of the building, for an unparalleled view over the city.
4) Take a walk along the Seine
The two sides of Paris are divided by the river Seine. Beautiful in every season, why not take a walk along the river, stopping at the book stands (the ever present bouquinistes) on the way, or watching the boats go by. We recommend walking from the Louvre on the Right Bank towards the Ile de la Cite (where Notre Dame is), and then on to the Ile St Louis to grab some Berthillon ice cream. But both sides of the river are equally beautiful, and full of breathtaking sights.
5) Relax in a park
No matter the weather or season, Parisians always head to the green spaces of the city to relax. Follow their example and take a walk - or bring a picnic - to one of the many public parks dotting the city. From the huge Jardin de Tuileries, to the hidden park inside the Palais Royal, the Right Bank has any number of spaces for you to relax and unwind after a busy day visiting Paris. And the Left Bank boasts the elegant Jardin de Luxembourg, home to the French Senat, and the Roman-era remains of the Arènes de Lutèce.
6) Shop in the Marais
The Marais is home to hundreds of boutiques and famous brands, and its winding streets make it the ideal place to spend an afternoon exploring. Start at the Place des Vosges and work your way through the neighbourhood, stopping at ancient mansions, vintage shops, patisseries and more along the way.
And if you're looking for more ideas, or want to compete with your friends and family while exploring the city, why not try one of our tours?
Our tours visit some of the most historic and beautiful areas in Paris, taking you from the Roman era to Renaissance palaces all the way up to milestones of contemporary art and design.
In the Latin Quarter tour, we take you to the Arènes de Lutece, one of the best-preserved Roman sites still standing in Paris. The Arena was built in the 1st century A.D. and was used for gladiator matches and other Roman entertainment, before it was lost to time under rubble and other buildings. Discovered in the 19th century during the construction of Rue Monge in the 5th arrondissement, it was preserved thanks to the tireless commitment of activists such as Victor Hugo and is now a park and open-air performance space. It's the perfect place to take a book or play a game of petanque. We also take you to several sites associated with the French Revolution, including the Pantheon, which was intended originally to be a church, but during the Revolution it became a mausoleum for famous citizens. In 2021, Josephine Baker was officially memorialised in the Pantheon, joining others such as Marie Curie, Alexandre Dumas and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. You'll also visit Saint-Germain-des-Prés, home to revolutionaries like Danton, Desmoulins, and the spot where the first guillotine was made. The Latin Quarter is known for being a literary hub, full of beautiful bookshops (including the very famous Shakespeare & Company), elegant parks and romantic river views. Let us show you around, letting you in on local favourites and taking you out of the guidebook tourist traps.
In the Right Bank tour, we walk you through the Jardin de Tuilleries and the Louvre complex, visiting the remains of the old Tuileries palace (can you imagine - the Louvre may seem huge to us today, but there used to be another palace just oppsite it), the various works of art and statues (including several by Rodin) that are scattered around the area, and to the Pyramide du Louvre and the area underneath the museum known as the 'Carrousel du Louvre'. You'll also visit some of the 'passages couverts', the famous covered passages that each have their own personality and style - for example, Galerie Colbert is known s the most cultured passage in the city since it's home to the Institut National d'Histoire de l'Art and the Institut National du Patriomoine, while Galerie Vivienne is one of the most beautiful and Instagram-friendly of them all.
Our tour also takes you from the oldest house still standing in Paris (built by Nicolas Flamel, famous for the legends connecting him to the Philosopher's Stone and more recently to Harry Potter), there since the 15th century, to the modern Pompidou Centre, home to modern and contemporary art and previously holding the unenviable title of 'most hated building' in Paris.
The Right Bank is the cultural, administrative and shopping centre of Paris. Let us take you through its main sites, including the unmissables like the Louvre, Hotel de Ville and Pompidou Centre, but also around the romantic side streets, hidden gardens and insider-knowledge cafes on our unique walking trail.
We will also soon be releasing tours that will take you around the beautiful and historic Marais neighbourhood and around the royal city of Versailles, tracing the footsteps of Marie Antoinette herself.
See our gallery of photographs for a glimpse of some of the sites you’ll visit.

We will also soon be releasing tours that will take you around the beautiful and historic Marais neighbourhood and around the royal city of Versailles, tracing the footsteps of Marie Antoinette herself.
See our gallery of photographs for a glimpse of some of the sites you’ll visit.

GDPR Compliance
This Privacy Policy describes how and when we collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from us, contact us, or otherwise use our services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that we do not own or control.
Information We Collect
To fulfil your order, you must provide us with certain information, such as your name, email address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide us with additional personal information (for a custom order, for example), if you contact us directly.
Why We Need Your Information and How We Use It
We rely on a number of legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:
- as needed to provide our services, such as when we use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;
- when you have provided your affirmative consent, which you may revoke at any time;
- if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
- as necessary for the purpose of our legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as providing and improving our services. We use your information to provide the services you requested and in our legitimate interest to improve our services.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Information about our customers is important to our business. We share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
- Etsy. We share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you our services and comply with our obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
- Business transfers. If we sell or merge our business, we may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
- Compliance with laws. We may collect, use, retain, and share your information if we have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce our agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of our customers, or others.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with our services and as described in our Privacy Policy. However, we may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. We generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.
Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU
We may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, we may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If we are deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, we rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.
Your Rights
If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. We describe these rights below:
- Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the contact information below.
- Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict our use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where we are required to store data for legal reasons) we will generally delete your personal information upon request.
- Object. You can object to our processing of some of your information based on our legitimate interests. In such cases, we will delete your personal information unless we have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
- Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about our use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
How to Contact Us
For purposes of EU data protection law, we, Worktown Games, are the data controllers of your personal information. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact us at worktowngames@gmail.com
